Preparing Second Barrel Shipment

22 Nov 2025

PTBI and Powerfilled Youth T.O. will continue these efforts over the next few months... Here is how you can help!

Recent Shipment to Jamaica

The Power to Be International, in partnership with Power-filled Youth Toronto, has already shipped 4 barrels filled with a variety of items that are needed in Jamaica now. We hope our people on the ground will receive the shipment by the end of November or early December. Once received, the barrels of goods will be shared and distributed to the families most impacted.

Need for Donations to Support Families Impacted by the Hurricane

The recent hurricane has caused significant devastation, leaving many families in dire need of assistance. The impact of such natural disasters can be long-lasting, affecting not only immediate shelter but also access to basic necessities. Here are some reasons why donations are crucial:

  • Immediate Relief: Many families have lost their homes and possessions. Donations provide essential items that can help them recover and rebuild their lives.

  • Long-Term Support: Recovery from a hurricane can take months or even years. Ongoing donations are necessary to support families as they navigate this challenging period.

  • Community Solidarity: Donating helps foster a sense of community and support during a time when many feel isolated and overwhelmed.

  • Targeted Assistance: Donations can be directed toward specific needs, ensuring that families receive what they require most urgently.

  • Encouragement of Volunteer Efforts: The act of donating can inspire others to get involved and contribute, amplifying the overall impact of relief efforts.

Suggested Items for Donation

When considering what to donate, here is a list of suitable items that can significantly aid families affected by the hurricane:

  • Clothing: Gently used or new clothes for all ages. Please ensure that items are washed, folded, and labelled for ease of distribution.

  • Non-Perishable Food: Canned goods, dry food items, and other shelf-stable products.

  • Hygiene Products: Soap, shampoo, toothpaste, feminine hygiene products, and other personal care items.

  • Bedding: Blankets, sheets, and pillows to provide warmth and comfort.

  • Household Items: Kitchen utensils, pots, pans, and cleaning supplies.

  • Baby Supplies: Diapers, wipes, formula, and baby food.

  • First Aid Kits: Basic medical supplies to support health needs.

  • School Supplies: Notebooks, pens, and other educational materials for children returning to school.
